Don't lose your dreams to protect your days

Leaving Montana behind and back to Canada (B.C)

Friday was travel day back to Canada, heading north along the Flathead River and the Kootenai River.

We looked at the map and were debating which way to go. Decided to take a chance and surprise an old friend of ours in Fernie B.C. – Penelope. We were for years neighbours at the Covent Garden Market in London as vendors. She sold the best bread in town, sourdough bread to die for. Over the last couple of years we kind of lost touch a little bit. And a year ago she moved with her husband (Dan) and son (Ezra) from London to Fernie B.C to start a new life.

The only thing I knew is that she worked at Starbucks in Fernie. So we asked a girl for directions and pulled up to Starbucks and Penelope happened to work that day in the store. She could not believe it when we came through the door and jumped up with joy. So we talked and were invited to stay at their place. Stayed two nights and it was so nice to reconnect with Penelope, Dan and Ezra, who happen to have his Birthday Party on Saturday.

I am jealous of where they live. Fernie is beautiful, so many things to do – hiking, mountain biking, skiing and a nice view of the mountains around the valley.
Did a nice hiking trail up Fairy Creek to Fairy Falls at Mount Proctor. We will go for brunch tomorrow and say good-bye. We really enjoyed the stay – thanks Penelope, Dan and Ezra for everything.
